Psychology Services
I am a registered School and Counselling Psychologist in Ontario, certified to practice with children and adolescents. In my practice, I presently see children who are eight to sixteen years of age who require psychoeducational assessments. For counselling, I see youth ages thirteen to twenty-one years of age
My passion is to help children and adolescents succeed in life. Given that children spend most of their lives at school and a good education provides the foundation for success, addressing concerns that arise is essential. These concerns include poor progress in academic areas; difficulties with daily living skills; attention-regulation concerns; and social-emotional concerns.
I help address concerns during school years by providing professional, comprehensive psychological counselling and assessment services to assist children and youth with getting back on their path toward success.
I have more than 18 years of experience working in elementary and secondary schools in Toronto, where I see children and adolescents with a broad range of learning concerns related to Intellectual Disability, Learning Disability, Giftedness and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and a variety of social-emotional concerns at a large School Board in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). In addition, I have completed internships as a counsellor at the Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University), York University Counselling Centre, and Peterborough Regional Health Centre. I also was employed as a psychology supervisor at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) research department.
I am of African descent, was born in Jamaica, and immigrated to Canada at seven years of age. I am a wife and mother of two children. I am pursuing my Doctor of Education in Counselling Psychology at The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto (OISE/UT). For my dissertation, I am researching how to improve special education services for Black children in Toronto schools. I regularly participate in The University of Toronto’s Centre for Diversity in Counselling and Psychotherapy seminars and conferences. I am registered as a School, and Counselling Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, certified to practice with children and adolescents. As well, I maintain membership with the Ontario Psychological Association.
